Philanjalo’s administrative team comprises of three departments, namely;

… other smaller denominations of the team, such as the transport and maintenance team all report and fall under the finance department.

These departments are all represented by department managers and collectively overseen and managed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the bridge and facilitates communications between the administrative and operational Philanjalo with the board, funders, stakeholders and partners.

The function and task of the administrative team is to ensure financial, operational, communication and human resource provision required for the day to day operations throughout the organization. This of course comes with a lot of challenges and issues because of the geographical location of the organization.

The list of Challenges include but is not limited to, accommodation, transportation, service provision, modern communication facilities and more. This makes operations more costly than normal and harder to carry out as most of the services have to be outsourced from far and at a higher cost because of the distance. Philanjalo also remain with the challenge to accommodate some members of stuff and still has a long waiting list of others who are looking to better their living conditions. With a high number of student care givers, doctors, researchers and other personnel from all over the world, going to and fro the premises, the organization is in much a shortage of resources.
